The Battle of Hastings - 1066
James Watts’ steam engine - 1769
The French Revolution - 1789
World War I - 1914-1918
World War II - 1939-1945
So What?
Names and dates. That’s the reaction I get when asking people why they hated history so much. Sure, names and dates are important in history. So are batting averages and ERAs in baseball. But batting averages and ERAs are no more the essence of baseball than names and dates are the essence of history.
It’s time to replace the box score approach to history with a dynamic and visual approach to get students excited about the past.
That’s where The Flow of History comes in. It’s history for the 21st century.
